Flower girl dresses come in all shapes and colors, and this approaching Spring season we’re seeing, more than ever, the colors for the little girls mirroring the choices in the wedding palette. In Santa Barbara, terracotta is everywhere: on the tile roofs of the white-washed buildings, on the flower pots of every balcony, on the walkways along this iconic town’s streets, everywhere! So it’s no surprise that bride’s are choosing light terracotta as part of their wedding scheme when they marry at the many historic places throughout the area. The Santa Barbara Courthouse “Mural Room,” El Presidio Chapel, Santa Barbara Historical Museum are a few of the fabulous venues that evoke the romance of the old Spanish era. And, of course, the famous Four Seasons Biltmore offers a trip back into idyllic times. Flower girls serve a much bigger purpose than simply being the cutest members of a wedding party…as they make the guests say ‘aww’ when they walk down the aisle, they actually begin the celebration. This season, in dresses reminiscent of a golden age, they bring incandescence to the occasion as they walk in the sunlight or candlelight in light terracotta- colored fabrics ranging from shimmery to pearlescent. What a splendid sight to see a lovely bride preceded by beaming little girls in radiant color!
